Summer should be relaxing, fun and chill! Unfortunately, many people struggle with anxiety and stress that limits their ability to fully enjoy the moment. Here are some of our Wellness Teams favorite supplements for relaxation and mood support.

L-Theanine: For Mental Calming

In these sweet summer months, we have an opportunity to unwind, unplug, and slow down with loved ones, but our minds can still be in over-drive, making it hard to fully relax. Those wanting extra support with stress relief, calming, and relaxation without drowsiness can reach for L-Theanine.
L-theanine is an amino acid most commonly found in green and black tea.
Try 400mg of L-theanine capsules (Xymogen) anytime of day in order to more readily unwind in these slower summer months.

Magnesium: For Physical Relaxation

While L-theanine can promote relaxation on a particularly mental level, try Magnesium to support physical relaxation. Magnesium impacts over 300 chemical conversions in the body, and helps us with muscle recovery, stress, hormone support, sleep and much more. Studies show 50% of the US population is deficient in the foundational mineral. Try Pure Encapsulations Magnesium Glycinate capsules, or Magnesium Citrate for help with regularity.

Melatonin/CBD: For Sleep Restoration

We all know a quality night’s sleep has a great impact on our wellbeing the following day. Conversely, a night that lacks adequate rest results in us being much more prone to stress, irritability, and short temper. Medterra’s CBD + Melatonin is an excellent product for those wanting to maximize their rest in order to be in a better state for play and relaxation the following day. Conveniently scored tablets allow you to adjust dosing to best suit your needs. Melatonin is a widely used sleep supplement that helps support our natural sleep cycle. CBD has numerous benefits, such as stopping the breakdown of anandamide, a neurotransmitter- known as “the bliss molecule” for the role it plays  in producing feelings of happiness.

Rescue-Calm: For Anxiety Support

Try Energetix’s Rescue Calm for a natural homeopathic remedy to help increase states of tranquility. The flower extracts in the product can be used in situations of acute stress or anxiety. Use for flight nervousness, stress during vacation planning, or help falling asleep while on a different routine.

We have all of these products and many others available in the Apothecary at Alive + Well. Our Wellness Team is always hapy to help you determine the best protocol for natural anxiety and stress reduction.  Drop by or call 512-580-5775.
